10K Run for Cancer Research
On Sunday 15th October four of Cowbridge sixth form students from the sports committee volunteered to help with the Cowbridge 10k run. Many of our students participated in the 5k and 10k with many finishing with impressive times. A group of year 11 boys even ran to support Jack Griffiths and his family.
The attendance was amazing with people of all ages running. Even a few runners brought their dogs along!
I was part of the water station with Mali Howell, Head Boy, Dan Marshall and Head Girl, Henny Glanville. We were also accompanied by Miss Mc Andrew from the PE department. We cheered on the runners and spotted many familiar faces. All of the volunteers were great in helping the event to run smoothly.
Towards the end of the run, the organisers hosted a 1K for children and their parents which was a lovely way to end the day for everyone.
This event raised money for Cancer Research UK and I was proud to see so many Cowbridge pupils representing the school for such a good cause.
