On May 2nd of March, Cowbridge Comprehensive School’s Interact Club, a branch of the Rotary Club, held a Quiz night to support the charity Epilepsy Wales. The night was a huge success, everyone who attended had a great time and together a grand total of £250 was raised and donated to Epilepsy Wales! As a result of this, Lesley Williams-an outreach worker from Epilepsy Wales came in to school and conducted an assembly in which she explained a few key points about epilepsy and how we can battle the misconceptions surrounding it.
Next month, the Interact Club aim to beat this total raised by holding a Film Night in the school’s Main Hall on the 5th of July starting at 6 o'clock. The film being showed is Guardians of the Galaxy and everyone is invited to attend; tickets will be sold for £5 with drinks and snacks available. The Film Night is in honour of Jack Griffiths, a pupil of the school who unfortunately passed away due to Cancer. All proceeds will go to the Welsh Cancer Charity Latch as the helped Jack and his family. We hope to see you there and that we can raise as much as we possibly can!
