Jack Griffiths Football Match

Our school community supports all of its members, and so over the past few weeks wristbands have been sold in the memory of Jack Griffiths. The bands came in two colours; brown in support of oesophageal cancer and red and white to symbolise Arsenal – Jack’s favourite football team. On Friday 23rd March, during KS4/5 lunch a memorial football match took place on the 3G by year 11 pupils. The match ended with a draw. Well done to all!!! There was also a refreshment stall outside the 3G which sold a variety of sweets, biscuits, crisps, drinks as well as the wristbands. I am very proud to be able to say that from the wristband sales and Friday’s match a fantastic total of £1619 has been raised to go towards Jack’s memorial Garden which puts the total garden fund at £4350!! I would like to thank the Year 11 boys for organising the match and wristbands with the help of Mrs Taylor-John as well as the Headteacher and all the staff and pupils who helped or watched the match. What a fantastic way to remember one of our peers.
