St. David's Day Welshcake Bake Sale

This year the Healthy Eating Committee has raised money for Children In Need, Red Nose Day and is planning an event for Sport relief.

On Thursday 1st March 2018, the Healthy Eating Committee planned to hold a Welshcake sale for all year groups in celebration of ST DAVID’S DAY. A special day for the culture and history of Welsh People. However due to the snow Day it was rescheduled. The actual St David’s Day bake sale was held on Thursday 8th March.

On sale were chocolate chip welshcakes, classic welshcakes and chocolate brownies which all sold very well. An impressive total of £133.82 was raised. These proceeds will go towards Jack Griffiths Memorial Garden. To help the memory and name of Jack live on.

We would like to give a massive Thank you to The Elephant and Bun Deli High Street, Cowbridge for their generous donation of welshcakes and chocolate brownies. From Cowbridge Comprehensive School and The Healthy Eating Committee we are very grateful.

On behalf of the Healthy Eating Committee we would also like to thank, the pupils and staff who donated to this fantastic cause.
