Stage Coach Fanfare Young Composer Award: Cerys May

Year 11 student Cerys May has just won the Stage Coach Fanfare Young Composer Award. This meant she was able to work with world class composer David Lowe at his recording studio in London. David Lowe’s music includes the BBC News, The One Show and Grand Designs. The award was presented by David Lowe at the Charity Gala Stage Coach Creative Courage for Life awards held on 2nd December at the Shaftesbury Theatre. GCSE Music student Cerys’s fanfare tune “LEAP” is available on iTunes with all proceeds going to Young Minds Charity. Cerys is pictured with David Lowe at the Awards ceremony, and also recording a flute line for her fanfare at the Soho recording studio. Head of Music, Mr. Adrian Colborne, said “Cerys is a fantastic student and has a real creative talent in composition; a fantastic start to her composing career”.
