The transition from primary to secondary school is a key time for every child.
Our aim is to make it as smooth as possible by working closely with our partner primary schools, pupils and their families through the year prior to transition and by offering a programme of induction days and activities.
Dates for your diary:
3rd – 7th June 2019 Primary visits
Mrs. Ingram (Transition and Senior Leader of Achievement for Year 7) and the Leader of Achievement for Year 7 will visit our partner primary schools.
18th June 2019 New Intake Parents’ Evening
Parents/Guardians are invited to the school to meet with the Head Teacher, Deputy Head, Assistant Head and Leader and Senior Leader of Achievement for Year 7.
25th June 2019 New Intake Transition Day
During the Transition Day pupils will meet their Form Tutors and will spend the day with their form.
Pupils will take part in a range of activities designed to get to know pupils in their new form and to familiarise themselves with their new environment.
27th June 2019 New Intake Subject Taster Day
Pupils spend the day with their forms to experience a day in Cowbridge Comprehensive School taking part in activities organised by a range of departments.
Transition is an ongoing activity. At Cowbridge we are continually looking for ways in which we can work more closely with our primary schools and establish links with departments.
CCS staff frequently meet with primary staff and visit our feeder primaries. Year 6 pupils are often invited to take part in activities such as watching school performances.
