Griffith new Director of Rugby
It is with great pleasure that Cowbridge Comprehensive Rugby Academy have signed David Griffith as Director of Rugby.
Coming from both a sporting and business background David was the ideal candidate to ensure that the successful high performance rugby programme continues to grow and improve.
Head of Physical Education, Mr Neil Thomas commented that “David was without any doubt the outstanding candidate in the application process. The position itself attracted lots of interest but after meeting with David and reading his 2 year business plan for the Academy it became clear that he was the ideal candidate. His vision for the Academy is something that will inspire and challenge our young athletes to become better players and better people. Having worked with David for a period of time, we were already fully aware of his work ethic, passion and commitment to deliver a high quality and professional programme”.
Although David has only been in the job for a couple of weeks, the players are already seeing the impact that his appointment is having. Senior International coaches have been brought in to the school to run skills sessions. The coaching team has already expanded to include former Cardiff Blues player Rory Watts Jones as defence coach, current semi pro player Adam Jones as backs coach as well as adding former British Lion Ieuan Evans to the performance analysis team.
When you factor in the comprehensive 60 points to 22 victory away at Llandovery College in the first WRU Wednesday league S4C televised game last week and it becomes clear that this is a very exciting time to be a part of Cowbridge Comprehensive Rugby Academy. We would like to take this opportunity to wish David good luck with his new role and we look forward to following the fortunes of the Academy side throughout the season.
