Welcome - Croeso!

Each year we are excited to welcome new students! This year, we are committed to ensuring that we adapt and innovate to ensure that we equip staff and students with the best facilities, resources and strategies, to survive and thrive post-pandemic!

Annually, we welcome approximately 240 new pupils into year 7, from more than 30 primary schools within the local area and beyond.

We understand that making an application may be a big decision, but our process is simple and our Achievement  Team is here to support you  each step of the way.

Digital Prospectus - Take a closer look!

There are lots of considerations when deciding where to send your child to school, and different factors are important to different people. That’s why we aim to ensure that there are plenty of opportunities  during the admission process to find out more about the school. As a starting point, we advise you to thoroughly read and listen to our Digital Online Prospectus. You can also have an informal chat with our Achievement Team, requesting a visit to the school and having a tour and discussions with senior staff and the headteacher.
 

Admissions Process - First Steps

The first step is to take a look at our Online Digital Prospectus. This will provide you with a fantastic opportunity to see what Cowbridge can offer to your child.

The next step is to attend our New Intake Evening on Thurday October 5th from 4-6pm. Please find below a Virtual New Intake Evening if you would like to view some information in advance. This will show presentations by our Executive Headteacher, Mrs Thomas, as well as other senior staff  who will be able to give an overview of key areas of our work, including how we will support and challenge your child to learn and flourish!

Admissions Process - Second step

To ensure that your child has an opportunity of accessing a place, it is important that you apply directly through the Vale of Glamorgan Council admissions page - Link by the closing date of November 24th, 2023

Admissions Timeline and Deadlines

22nd September	Online school admissions open to the Vale of Glamorgan Link
5th October	Year 6 Cowbridge Comprehensive New Intake Evening
24th November	Closing date for applications to the Vale of Glamorgan for school admissions. Link
1st March 2024	Parents advised of places by the Local Authority.

Once your child has secured a place, the Admissions Team will be in contact to ask you to complete an application form. This will enable the school to prepare for your child's arrival in September 2024 and also to provide us with your details so that we can notify you of any key events that are taking place as part of our transition programme.
